When I stepped into France nine days ago, I heard the Lord say: “France on fire.”

I had no frame of reference for what that could mean. Initially, I considered the positive side of this expression… being on fire for God. We are in talks to launch an Awakening House of Prayer in France and I hoped this is what God meant, but I knew there was more to it.

As I walked the streets of Paris, round about the area where the Eifel Tower stands in all its majesty, I just could not shake the words, “France on fire.”

As is my custom, when the Lord stops speaking I start seeking. I started researching historical fires in France and came up empty. Most of the fires in France are in the last 20 years and two of them were Channel Tunnel fires.

What was God saying?

As I walked the streets of Paris, I kept seeing signs protesting President Emmanuel Macron. I saw an economic justice movement and discovered its participants are called Yellow Vest Protestors because they wear yellow vests. I stumbled on news reports of protestors setting fires in France.

France on fire.

Just days ago Yellow Vest protestors continued setting shops fire in what marks the 18th week of unrest in the European nation. News reports indicate France is unprepared for the riots that have ensued.

Time magazine reports: “French yellow vest protesters set life-threatening fires, smashed up luxury stores and clashed with police Saturday in the 18th straight weekend of demonstrations against President Emmanuel Macron. Large plumes of smoke rose above the rioting on Paris’ landmark Champs-Elysees avenue, and a mother and her child were just barely saved from a building blaze.”

France on fire.

Where do we go from here? I’m more than a little concerned.

In April 2017, I heard the Lord say:

“The enemy has marked France for destruction because of its spiritual heritage. If My intercessors will rise up and build a spiritual wall around the nation—raise up impenetrable borders around the country through repentance and praise—I myself will raise up a standard that will stem the tide of this onslaught. I myself will rise up and cause France’s enemies to be scattered. I myself will empower the politicians and police with strategies to eradicate terrorists from the land and thwart future attacks. I myself will do it. So begin to pray now with greater fervor because lives are at stake, economies are at stake, and your spiritual heritage is at stake. Begin to cooperate now with My grace and My agenda and My plan for your nation and I myself will fight with you and for you.”

I am sure some intercessors have risen up, but the protestors seem to be making more noise in this season. We need the right kind of fire—revival fire. We need the intercessors now more than ever. Revival fire is on God’s heart for France—and Europe.

Revival wind hit France around 1100 AD through the Albigenses, known as “reformers before the reform.” Another group called the Waldenses were evangelistic reformers that took the gospel into Spain, Germany, Poland and Bohemia.

Of course, we must remember the Huguenots, French Protestants whose numbers rose to about 2 million by 1562 and openly displayed their faith despite persecution. France also saw an awakening in the late 19th Century and Pentecostalism spread there in the early 20th Century.

France’s Christian heritage is indeed rich—and France has seen more than its fair share of terror attacks dating all the way back to Christmas Eve 1800 when a bombing left 22 dead and over 50 injured. All told, there were seven deadly terror attacks in France in the 1800s.

Fast forward to the 1900s and France witnessed many terrorism-connected assassinations, car bomb and grenade attacks, hostage taking and more. Over 60 terror-inspired attacks were reported in the 20th century.

Moving to modern days, we’ve seen at least 30 terror attacks in France—and the pace is accelerating. There were 12 terror attacks in 2016, 10 in 2017 and three in 2018. That’s a downward trend but I’m concerned in my spirit that this ongoing unrest could be opening the door to more terror in 2019.

The enemy always strikes at an opportune time. What better time than when Paris and other parts of France are rioting and literally on fire.

Intercessors in France, please pray. I’ll stand with you! God wants to bring revival fire to your nation.

“Run to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem; See now and know; And seek in her open places If you can find a man, If there is anyone who executes judgment, Who seeks the truth, And I will pardon her.” ~Jeremiah 5:1

“The people of the land have used oppressions, committed robbery, and mistreated the poor and needy; and they wrongfully oppress the stranger. So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one. Therefore I have poured out My indignation on them; I have consumed them with the fire of My wrath; and I have recompensed their deeds on their own heads,” says the Lord God.” ~Ezekiel 22:29‭-‬31

I heard God say to me as I was waking up one morning in September, “Pray for France.” So I’ve been praying for them.

I have been praying for France for quite some time. What a difference it would make to Europe if France should turn for Jesus! I’ve also prayed for the millions of Muslims in France, most of whom are from Francophone northern African former French colonies. What a setup potentially: they’ve come from places where you can’t preach the Gospel to a country where you can, and they speak the language. Pray the Lord of the harvest sends laborers into this harvest from all over the French-speaking world. It will get to His great glory.

I repent of French colonialism in the Pacific, French nuclear testing in the Pacific, the French terror attack in Auckland New Zealand via the Rainbow Warrior ship and slaughter of the Albigensians, Waldensians and Huguenots, in the name of Jesus Christ Yeshua HaMashiach, our Redeemer. I plead the Living Blood of Jesus over the land and people of France and former and current French territories in the Pacific. Praise You, Jesus!

My family immigrated to America in the 1600’s to escape religious persecution from France, so I join in interceding for the nation and true revival as I have been praying for revival here in America. I am seeing the start here in America! Praying for France’s enemies to be scattered as well as the enemies of America(internal as well as external)!

I pray for the well being of France.
I repent for the fascination and activity in the occult.
I repent for this country’s persecution of Jews and other violence.
I pray that God would continue to empower the evangelists and all those who have taken on the task of being ministers of the gospel of Jesus Christ and deliverance ministries, especially in the French African community. I pray that the Christians in France would focus on Jesus and not other belief systems that God’s people would be found faithful, replacing the fires of hell with the fire of the Holy Spirit, the all-consuming fire who takes away our darkness and blesses us with the Light of the World, Jesus. (Yeshua) Lord, please break the generational curses. I ask all in the name of Jesus, Amen

I repent for words spoken against the French and France. I repent for the volatile spirit; the violence and destruction within the borders of France. I agree with Lynette for repentance in the Pacific, and with Jennifer for her concern and call for prayer. I speak in agreement with Our Lord’s words. We will build a spiritual wall around France with repentance and praise. Thank you for Your love and mercy, Lord. Let Your word be fulfilled, let your people co-operate with Your Grace, Your Agenda and Your plan for France. Raise up Your Standard
All Glory, All Honour, All Praise are Yours Always, Sovereign Lord our God

In French, I believe Lumiere means “light” and Lutece means “swamp”.

So much of the yellow-vest movement, which has been ongoing for months in France and many European nations, is a fight against the globalism and Satanism that so many of the European leaders have embraced. So praying for this situation is going to take a great deal of discernment and not just knee-jerk reactions on the part of all intercessors!

I had a dream about this last night, I knew it was Notre-Dame, but I didn’t know which Notre-Dame. as there are many churches by this name around the world. I saw a huge fire and billows of smoke, but , in the dream, I was horrified to see that the firefighters were LEAVING the scene of the fire instead of fighting it. There was no loss of life.I believe the Lord wanted to show me that the watchmen and intercessors were not all there to put out the fire, myself included..

Lord I come into agreement with my brothers and sisters around the world. May Your light once again shine brightly throughout France, and like the Olympic flame, be a baton that is passed around Your world. 1Peter 5

Thank God the fire has been halted, as I type this. I am praying for France and declaring a protective spiritual wall around it. It is ‘in my backyard’ and France has influenced many periods in our history: it has had a profound influence on our language, royal family and society as a whole. The 9 bells in the towers are Dutch.
During Holland ablaze, in August 2017, pastor Eric from The River (Tampa, Florida) told us he was in France a few years ago and preached there. I believe he said it was a religious church and he was only allowed to preach, nothing more. But the Spirit of God touched many people and one young woman kept screaming in French something like ‘the fire of God on France’ or ‘France on fire’.
I pray this fire in the Notre Dame (= our Lady = Mary), eventhough its source is wicked and I pray no one is hurt, has burned away what needed to be cleared so that God can move there with His fire. When I read this: The mayor of Paris has declared: The fire is a disaster for the whole world. “The Notre-Dame is Paris’ whole history. It is the symbol of who we are.” (https://nos.nl/liveblog/2280671-rook-boven-notre-dame-opgetrokken-miljardair-doneert-200-miljoen.html), it seems to me she is referring to France’s catholic heritage (80% is Catholic). I pray the time has come that France and the whole of Europe see Jesus as our history, present and future, and not some building or Mary, eventhough I love and admire medieval architecture and am sorry that part of it is destroyed. I pray that it will not become a ‘Notre drame’ (our drama) as newspaper La libération writes (http://geographiesenmouvement.blogs.liberation.fr/2019/04/15/notre-drame-de-paris-catastrophe-nationale/). I pray it is a liberation, a breaking free, of the spirit of religion! I believe this is the firestarter for visible revival in Europe, with its seat of fire in the heart of France, in the Notre Dame, the symbol of France.
